Ways to volunteer
Coral Reef Restoration & Reef Monitoring
Help us protect and restore coral reef ecosystems along the Tanzanian coast. Volunteers can support reef restoration activities, coral nursery maintenance, reef monitoring, underwater surveys and the collection of ecological data, depending on their qualifications and project needs. Who can join: Divers, marine biologists, marine science students, researchers, underwater photographers and people interested in reef conservation. Some underwater activities require appropriate diving qualifications, training and supervision.
Ocean Education & Youth Engagement
Help inspire the next generation of ocean guardians. Support educational visits, school outreach, marine conservation awareness, learning activities and initiatives that help children and young people understand the importance of coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass meadows and other marine ecosystems. Who can join: Teachers, educators, students, storytellers, facilitators, artists and people passionate about environmental education.
Beach Cleanups & Community Field Days
Be part of practical conservation action on the ground. Join beach cleanups, waste collection activities, community awareness campaigns, field visits and other initiatives that bring people together to care for coastal environments. Who can join: Individuals, families, student groups, corporate teams, community groups and environmental clubs.
Marine Science, Research & Data Collection
Help us strengthen the scientific knowledge behind our conservation work. Depending on current projects, volunteers may support field observations, ecological surveys, biodiversity documentation, data entry, research, monitoring reports and the analysis of environmental information. Who can join: Marine scientists, ecologists, biologists, university students, researchers, statisticians and data specialists.
What to expect
- We provide training. Enthusiasm and reliability matter more than experience.
- Local and international volunteers are welcome. In-water roles require a swim check.
- Be honest about your time. A few reliable hours a month beat a big promise.
