How coastal students became reef guardians

An ocean-literacy program is changing how a generation sees the sea.
For many students on this coast, the ocean is where families fish, but few have seen a healthy reef up close. Our program changes that.
Lessons start in the classroom and end in the water, with a snorkel over a recovering reef. The change in how students talk about the ocean afterward is immediate.
These are the people who will protect this coast for the next fifty years. The program is an investment in them.
